Our panel talk in IDEEA Hospitality Investment Forum 2022

Over 60 industry leaders from across Europe at the IDEEA Hospitality Investment Forum came together to share the insights and ideas that can drive forward hospitality development and investment in Southeast Europe. The two-day event took place on 26-27 September 2022 at the Grand Hyatt Athens, Greece. While we are coming close to wrapping up 2022, different market representatives learnt from each other, refocused on the right opportunities, and how to accelerate our recovery to a new future.

Dr Ayca Kolukisa, Chief Strategy Officer of IAHC was a speaker in the Aviation panel of the conference, together with Dr Andreas Papatheodorou, Professor in Industrial Economics at the University of the Aegean and Executive Member of the Board of Directors of Hellenic Civil Aviation, Mrs Vasiliki Christidi, Aviareps Group General Manager and Mr Jon Howell CEO of AVIADEV.

The panel elaborated on the new European regulations in relation to CO2 emissions, the impact of increased costs to airlines and airports, competition with non EU countries, as well as on the shortage of human capital that affects the overall airport business with regards to the recovery of the traffic. Ayca had the chance to present the actions taken by the new Heraklion Airport, highlighted the risks and suggested directions towards all stakeholders engagement that can assure the environmental sustainability alongside the aviation industry viability.
